Compassionate care.

At CALEX, we value all of our patients and put your needs first.  We are committed to providing compassionate, responsive and state-of-the art pre-hospital care.  Combining decades of experience, quality people and a keen focus on patient satisfaction and care, our goal is to exceed your expectations in every interaction you have with us.

CALEX stands ready to help 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days per year.    We provide emergency pre-hospital care, assist with hospital-to-hospital transfers, and also offer a host of community education classes such as CPR and First Aid.

Your privacy, protected.

You may have heard of HIPAA, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, and be asked to sign forms at every doctor's office you go to "because of HIPAA."   This law was enacted in 1996 to help employees change jobs and keep their health insurance by making their coverage “portable”.  Federal lawmakers broadened the law to include the Privacy Rule in 2003.   Basically, the law says your health information is private and protected, and cannot be shared without your permission.    You can read our formal policy on it here.  When we provide care for you, we make a commitment that we will honor your privacy.    It IS a commitment, and we take it seriously.

Subscription Information

What is a subscription?   It's a way for Vermont residents to have greater peace of mind and reduce out-of-pocket costs associated with ambulance services!

Q:  What is covered?
A:  Emergency (911) responses in our service area, and addresses any balances remaining after all insurance plans are billed.

Q:  Who is covered in a family or 'household' subscription?
A:  Any individual who permanently resides in your household.

Q:  When does coverage begin and end?
A:  Coverage runs from January 1st-December 31st of each year. Subscription fees are not pro-rated.

Q:  What if I already have insurance?
A:  Many insurance companies do not provide full coverage for ambulance transportation, which could result in you having to pay for services out-of-pocket or to meet a deductible.  Under the Subscription Program, CALEX may bill and collect from your insurance company but you will never have to pay any additional amount.

Q:  What if I have no insurance?

A:  Even if you are without coverage, or your coverage does not provide payment for ambulance service, you have no out of pocket expense, provided the services are 911 transports.

Q:  What is the cost?
A: The fees are:
     Household $60
     Individual <62 $40
     Single 62+ $30
     Couple 62+ $50
